Lake Ashton LA Times — Breast Cancer Survivors Share Their Stories and Community Supports BCFCF
The October 2026 issue of Lake Ashton LA Times recognizes Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a special feature celebrating four local breast cancer survivors and highlighting the Lake Ashton community’s continued support of the Breast Cancer Foundation of Central Florida (BCFCF).
In her Resident Spotlight feature, Marianne Zak shares the personal journeys of Lydia Fichtman, Dawn Neigh, Carole Ferrieri, and Tami Donnelly, each offering a different perspective on diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and the importance of community.
The issue also features Lydia Fichtman’s article, Get Your Pink On!, promoting Lake Ashton’s November 14 Pink Ribbon Golf Tournament benefiting BCFCF. The article highlights the foundation’s mission of providing direct financial assistance to local families facing breast cancer.
Last year’s Lake Ashton Pink Ribbon fundraising efforts generated more than $65,000 for BCFCF, reflecting the community’s remarkable commitment to helping families close to home.
We’re grateful to the Lake Ashton community for continuing to share survivors’ stories, raise awareness, and stand behind local families facing breast cancer.
