Mission Statement
BCFCF provides fast, direct, and compassionate financial relief for non-medical expenses to Central Florida families impacted by breast cancer — so they can focus on healing, not bills.
Who We Are
- Founded in 2017 by breast cancer survivor Leah Grieger.
- Now an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving Central Florida.
- Led by Executive Director Ashley Lloyd, a survivor still in treatment herself, alongside a passionate volunteer board.
What We Do
- Financial Assistance: Immediate support for essentials like rent/mortgage, utilities, groceries, gas, and childcare during treatment.
- Community Support: Survivor spotlights, local partnerships, and events that unite the community with families impacted by breast cancer.
- Awareness & Advocacy: Education and storytelling that shed light on the real challenges of breast cancer survivorship.
Impact Snapshot (2024–2025)
- $180,000+ in direct financial assistance provided since founding (through 2024)
- 150+ families supported across Polk, Hillsborough, and Pinellas Counties
- Average turnaround: just 7–10 days from application to assistance (before the 2025 pause)
- Survivor Voices: New Friday Stories series launched in 2024, spotlighting a different survivor each week and reaching thousands across social media
